Unconsiciously, we sometimes use the "desensitizing" method in riding. R2D2 was used to be a very sensitive horse. But I have a bad habbit of uncontinuously hitting his belly with my spurs. As a result, R2D2 was desensitized by the spurs and getting at bit dull. To make R2D2 more sentitive again, I have to "sensitize" him. I need to improve my riding skill if I want to improve my horse.
From this week, I would like to introduce Japanese riders to Desensitizing & Sensitizing in the book "Clinton Anderson's Downunder Horsemanship: Establishing Respect and Control for English and Western Riders".
I heard that the methods of Mr. Clinton Anderson are very practical and therefore popular among general riders. I also got lots of useful advises from his book and could build a good relationship with my spooky AOI. The "Desensitizing & Sensitizing" method is also useful to efficiently give aids to horses when riding.
Here, I won't explain his method in my poor English, but please read and watch his books and videos if you are interested in them.
